Jewelry created by Buccellati

BUCCELLATI (founded 1919)

Buccellati, a distinguished Italian luxury jewelry brand, was founded by Mario Buccellati in Milan in 1919. Renowned for his meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail, Buccellati quickly gained recognition in Italy and abroad.

Buccellati produced its most celebrated pieces, often inspired by Italian Renaissance aesthetics, from the 1920s through the 1960s: distinct jewels, compacts and silver objects with a rich textural quality derived from the brand’s signature piercing and “Rigato” engraving techniques, resulting in delicate designs that resembled honeycomb, tulle or lace. Buccellati jewels are also known for being made in mixed metals with naturalistic motifs.  If gemstones are used, they are often unusual:  large cabochons, carved emeralds, rubies, and rose-cut diamonds.

After Mario’s death in 1965, his sons and later, his grandchildren, continued the family business. Today, Buccellati remains synonymous with timeless elegance and artistry, with boutiques around the world showcasing the brand's commitment to preserving traditional Italian craftsmanship.
