CAZZANIGA (founded 1940s)

Based in Rome, Angelo Giorgio Cazzaniga founded his eponymous jewelry firm in the 1940s. His aristocratic connections, including close ties with Princess Irene Galitzine, a descendant of Russian nobility, are reflected in his creations from the 1950s through the 1970s, which feature rich enameling and the vibrant palette of Russian iconography.

Cazzaniga’s designs drew from a blend of artistic influences, seamlessly incorporating Byzantine, Baroque, Roman, and Renaissance motifs into his jewelry with unmistakable elegance. His workshop became renowned for its masterful three-color gold work and intricately enameled pieces, each one handcrafted to the highest standards of craftsmanship. His bold use of gold and vibrant colored stones created a striking celebration of movement and vitality, establishing Cazzaniga as a master of blending tradition with innovation.

Today, the firm continues under the direction of his son, Paolo Cazzaniga, who carries forward the legacy of exquisite craftsmanship and forward-thinking design.
