Raised in Asheville, North Carolina, Webb’s artistic journey began in his teens when he apprenticed under his uncle, a silversmith. In 1948, he founded David Webb Inc. in New York City, quickly gaining recognition for his bold and vibrant designs. Webb’s distinctive style featured colorful gemstones, intricate enamel work, and animal motifs, attracting a high-profile clientele that included Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Princess Grace of Monaco.
