Jewelry created by Pomellato

POMELLATO (founded 1967)

Pomellato was founded in Milan in 1967 by Pino Rabolini, the heir to a family of goldsmiths. Today, it is one of the most prominent fine jewelry houses in Italy. Pomellato is well-known for having “changed the rules” by introducing the prêt-à-porter concept into the world of luxury jewelry. Recognizing rapid shifts in women’s lifestyles in the late 1960s, Rabolini created pieces that were elegant but understated, intended to be worn anytime and changed like clothes.

Pomellato’s wearable jewelry, characterized by a unique blend of colors, stones, and extraordinary shapes, became hugely popular with Italian women in the 1970s. In the 1980s, the house introduced less expensive semiprecious colored stones to its line. They became known for their colorful rounded cabochon gems and tactile forms.

Pomellato continues to have an international following and produces jewelry in its unique style with impeccable craftsmanship. Its second brand, Dodo, was launched in 1995.
