Theodor "Teddy" Hahn (1933-2012)

Theodor “Teddy” Hahan (1933-2012) fled Poland in childhood, settling in Darmstadt, Germany, where he resided until his death. Despite being a self-taught goldsmith, Hahn originally trained as a dental technician. But his passion was jewelry, and he dedicated himself to crafting individual and unique jewelry pieces for his wife, consistently in gold with a high fineness of 900. His artistic flair and creativity were inherited from his mother, who was an artist. Hahan amassed a notable collection of pre-Columbian art before redirecting his focus entirely to Japanese netsukes. A portion of his significant netsuke collection was recently auctioned at the Lempertz Asian Art auction.
